JOB PURPOSE To help Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing develop appropriate housing services for members of the Black and Minority Ethnic communities. To carry out a specific research project whilst developing and extending the post holder’s professional skills, knowledge and experience, with a one year post. DIMENSIONS Staff managed: None Budget responsibility: None Scope/volume of work: Kirklees, Bradford and Calderdale Local Authorities. Day to day supervision: Area Manager PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. To make a positive contribution to the provision of housing services to the Association’s customers with a particular emphasis on BME communities, whilst gaining a broad and practical understanding of the work of the different parts of the organisation. 2. To follow a structured programme of work based training activities covering community development, housing management and development work tailored to the skills and interests of the post holder. 3. Your role will involve working with community groups, voluntary groups and statutory agencies in order to promote the service offered by Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing and to identify new opportunities for working.
