A Mechanical Engineer is required to work as part of multi-disciplinary team designing antennas for the automotive industry. The candidate will be skilled in the use of I-DEAS CAD package and preferably have experience of working with the Ford C3P system.
The main responsibility will be to take charge of the mechanical design aspects of antenna structures suitable for mass-production to automotive standards. The engineer will create the 3-D model to be integrated with the customer's complete assembly and then to generate the relevant 2-D production drawing set. You will work within an APQP team and ideally be familiar with automotive working practices such as DFMEAs, Design reviews and general automotive design standards and environmental requirements. You will be involved with the product from concept to production and this will entail liaison with the customer, sub-contract manufacturers for prototypes and the factory for mass-production.
We are therefore also looking for candidates that display communication skills and a willingness to be part of a team.
The position is based in a modern R&D facility in Kent. Here you will work alongside other leading professionals in the field of automotive antennas. Some travel will be involved usually within the UK and Europe. A long established company committed to building on it's recent successes in Europe.
Minimum Qualifications: BSc in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years experience including at least 2 years experience in 3-D modelling using I-DEAS.
