They urgently require a senior test engineer to work on software releases from integration to system test - this will include protocol conformance and type approval testing. You will also need to liaise with engineers carrying out testing on EMC, environmental, over-the-air trials and certification.
You will be involved in the definition of test plans, methodologies, requirements and procedures. Your role will include the specification, procurement, commissioning and maintenance of test benches and related equipment.
A key responsibility will be the writing of scripts and the production of test vectors and automation software. You will also be involved in regression and integration testing, field support / maintenance and support, configuration control and bug database tracking & reporting.
To be considered for this role you are likely to have a degree level qualification in electronic engineering or a related area, followed by 3 or more years experience in cellular or satellite telecoms. Ideally you will already be in a software test role, but you may also be a developer wishing to move into a more test-focussed position.
You must have a good system level understanding of wireless comms from layer 1 up to the protocol layers, and be able to specify and use lab test equipment for standard parameter measurement. In addition you will have working knowledge of a script language, C or Visual Basic.
Knowledge of TTCN would be advantageous, as would experience of embedded software, over-the-air testing and trials.
