To support an expanding programme of research and development in imaging/computer vision for surveillance applications they are seeking to recruit an imaging scientist. The role requires skills in software system design and programming in C++ and C# on Microsoft Windows platforms, but more importantly the vision and commitment to create first of a kind systems. Strong mathematical skills and an awareness of systems thinking are important, and other technical skills which would be an advantage include DirectShow, XML and database design. The ideal candidate will have a first degree in mathematics, computer science or similar and will have carried out post-graduate research, preferably leading to a PhD. The successful candidate will work within a small team of scientists/engineers and will be expected to develop code to industry standards. He or she will be encouraged to retain connectivity to the academic community and to maintain awareness of new developments in computer vision. The role requires skills in software system design and programming in C++ and C# on Microsoft Windows platforms, but more importantly the vision and commitment to create first of a kind systems. Strong mathematical skills and an awareness of systems thinking are important, and other technical skills which would be an advantage include DirectShow, XML and database design. The ideal candidate will have a first degree in mathematics, computer science or similar and will have carried out post-graduate research, preferably leading to a PhD. The successful candidate will work within a small team of scientists/engineers and will be expected to develop code to industry standards.
