description Our Client supplies, and supports, RF equipment in the Defence market. They are currently looking for a part-time Test Engineer to provide product support. The successful candidate will primarily be based on a Client site in Luton to work alongside a full-time Test Engineer for 1-2 days a week on avionic Electronic Warfare system modules as well as some STTE (Special To Type Equipment). You will be responsible for fault diagnosis and module replacement at a system level for repair and upgrade. Test tools include instrumentation such as scopes and network analyers. As part of the role you will be expected to generate technical reports, offer assistance, and interface with customers. To be considered you must be experienced with good communication skills and be able to manage/prioritise daily tasks. You will need to be computer literate with word processing and spreadsheets, and hold a qualification in Electronics to at least HNC level. Any previous experience working with military aircraft/RF systems or in defence industry environments would be advantageous. This role will ideally suit an Engineer who is currently (or who is looking to become) semi-retired, or who has family care responsibility.
