Due to continued success they are now looking for a Software Tools Development Task Leader to be responsible for ensuring that the 3G Software Group use the most cost-effective, efficient, and necessary tools (such as handset logging, automation, and factory production software tools). This will include engineering skill from requirements capture and product evaluation, through to integration, support, and management. Utlilising both bought in 3rd party software and adaptation of current existing tools. You should have proven software design experience with Object Orientated methodology in a Windows environment preferably using a version of C++. The role will require direct liaison with end-users of the tools under development, with some supervision and mentoring of junior engineers. As product evaluation forms a strong element for this role it will be expected that you will be confident in giving demonstrations and presentations. Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and preparation of responses to sub contractors questions. Provide designer with information required to carry out the design of the repair / renewal works to the Earth Structure. Review sub-contractor method statements / risk assessments and other documentation to ensure compliance with QUENSH and other relevant standards and procedures. Assist the sub-contractor with booking of possessions and arrangement of protection of site staff. Supervise works on site to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Sign off works where authorised to do so. Monitor the works against the sub-contractors issued programme. Audit sub-contractor to ensure Quality Assurance documentation is produced as required by the approved method statement. Carry out Health and Safety inspections and report on sub-contractors Health and Safety management. Assist in approval of sub-contractors completion packages. Assist in liaison with LUL, HMRI and other statutory authorities as required for approval / certification of the repaired / renewed Earth Structure. Qualified Civil Engineer or Engineering Geologist On site experience at Section Engineer or above preferably within the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry.
