Technical Telecom Network Support Engineer for leading supplier of carrier class telecommunications equipment and services for new generation of IP telecom technology to support roll-out of broadband and access products. Projects involve work in BT exchanges providing technical supervision of subcontractors for installation and commissioning. Strong trouble shooting competence and maintenance skills for FLM / SLM is required. Level 2 / 3 support service to the customers with a technical support team. Provide training to customers, subcontractors or service partners. Supply pre-sales support for testing, bidding or holding workshops and preparation of work instructions and manuals. Knowledge of communication protocols, SNMP management and appreciation of hardware circuit design and network architecture desirable. You must have very good knowledge of: Routers, LAN Switches, DSLAM/xDSL, ATM Switch and IP Data communication Products, inc. VoIP and VoDSL. Understanding of data communication networks; protocols: TCP/IP, PPP, X25, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, RIP, etc. VLAN, Bridges, MPLS, Frame Relay and class 5 switches. Knowledge of DASS2, Q931, X21, ISDN, E1, STM1, BRI, PRI, POTS. of SDH,PDH, DWDM, and PON delivery. Computer Skills: MS Office products - Powerpoint, Excel, Word and Internet. Must have a full UK driving license; CCNA,CCNP; excellent communication skills and be prepared to travel extensively throughout the UK and occasionally Europe.
