Technical Network Support Engineer to support carrier class telecommunications equipment / services for roll-out of broadband and access products, inc. work in BT exchanges providing technical supervision of subcontractors or service partners for installation, commissioning and acceptance surveys. Duties include support and trouble shooting competence and maintenance skills; Level 2 / 3 technical support service to customers with a technical support team; Provide training to customers, subcontractors or service partners; Supply pre-sales support for testing, bidding or holding workshops, and prepare work instructions and manuals. You must have good knowledge of general communication protocols, SNMP management and appreciation of hardware circuit design and network architecture desirable. Good knowledge of Routers, LAN Switches, DSLAM/xDSL, ATM Switch and IP Data Communication products, inc. VoIP and VoDSL, understanding of data communication networks, protocols such as TCP/IP, PPP, X25, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, RIP, etc. and VLAN, Bridges, MPLS, Frame Relay, and class 5 switches with knowledge of basic telecom protocols DASS2, Q931, X21, ISDN, E1, STM1, BRI, PRI, POTS, SDH, PDH, DWDM and PON delivery. Computer literacy is expected. You must have full UK driving licence, CCNA,CCNP Certification and be prepared to travel extensively throughout the UK and occasionally Europe.
