I am currently working with a leading provider of installation, development and support services for telecoms infrastructures for the broadcast, transport and civil sectors.
They are looking to recruit a Project Manager - Telecoms, Rail for their transport division.
The initial project is to manage the Survey, Design and Installation stages for the deployment of GSM-R communication equipment on the Network Rail Infrastructure in Signal Boxes and Control centres.
The responsibilities will include:
- maintenance, distribution and adherence to Project Plan
- managing a team of site based survey and installation engineers
- developing and maintaining relationship with the client
- overseeing all project deliverables
- managing project risk control
- project reporting
The ideal candidate for the Project Manager - Telecoms, Rail position will have
- several years experience in managing large and complex projects in telecoms and/ or rail
- knowledge and understanding of digital transmission networks and rail telecoms. Preferably knowledge of GSM-R, FTN
- experience of P&L management, costing, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- costing, quote and bid experience
- good customer facing and negotiating skills
