Test Engineers (Wireless, UNIX, Oracle), North London, £40,000, ASAP Our client is currently looking a number of test engineers for this international wireless company. Responsibilities The Test Engineer helps in specifying and managing all of the test materials for each project, and helps in developing the software tools needed to provide comprehensive testing of the products. o Preparation and set-up of the test platforms, and undertaking of the initial installation of the base data within the software. Ensuring that all system information is available prior to system test. Experience o Should have at least 2 to 3 years Software Testing experience. o Knowledge of wireless telecommunications architecture/concepts (GSM / UMTS / GPRS). o Understanding of formal testing methodology. o Good knowledge of UNIX, DOS and Oracle is essential. o Must be capable of writing UNIX shell scripts / DOS batch scripts / Perl scripts. o Working knowledge of Windows. o Knowledge of XML is required. o Basic knowledge of TCP/IP is required. o Knowledge of software programming will be an advantage. o Knowledge of SQL will be an advantage. o Knowledge of Client/Server architecture (and Java Webstart) will be an advantage.
