External IP Support Engineer, SDH/Broadband , To £30,000 + Car + Laptop + Mobile Phone

New position due to expansion!
An exciting new opportunity has now arisen within the Operations Department of this Pan-European Internet Service Provider for an External IP Support Engineer.
You should have good field based experience working in an SDH/Broadband environment, with excellent fault diagnosis of IP networks and transmission and a minimum of 3 years experience in networking within the Telecom / ISP sector. You must also have excellent Customer facing interpersonal skills, be self motivated and highly organised in a lone working environment, with the ability to communicate effectively in both the written and verbal form.
Duties will include installation of additional cards within Core Network equipment for additional capacity, co-operation support with BT on installation and maintenance issues, customer facing on site identification and repair of Lucent and Cisco Routers. It will also require customer facing on site identification and repair of networking issues and customer facing installation of high-end Broadband products. You will be included in on call Rota for 24 x 7 Support, responsible for installation of cabling in pops and exchanges as required, take ownership of a number of operational LLU Exchanges, take on field based activities as needed. You will have field facing responsibility for 3rd line technical support handling customer and network faults escalated to this level.
A full Clean UK Driving Licence is essential – mobile role to cover the London area.
