The successful candidate will initially be undertaking enhancement work on a large MS Access / VBA application for a major financial sector organisation. Future work will involve VB/SQL and .Net development and support activities.
The following are essential skills for the role:
* MS Access
* VBA
* SQL 2000
This role will suit a Microsoft Developer capable of working on the development and support of a large number of applications, primarily using Access, VBA, VB6 and SQL Server 2000, but moving to .Net in the future. You could be involved in design, build, and incident resolution, for a wide range of clients.
Preferably, you will also have knowledge of DTS and VB6, whilst experience of financial systems is an advantage. Additionally, you will:
* Have good communication and organisation skills
* Be happy to work through a number of different small changes, including working with users on testing
* Have efficient time management
* Work well with deadlines
* Be efficient and quick to learn
* Be comfortable working with user management
* Work well alone but know when to escalate
* Have a positive attitude
