The successful applicant will undertake the enhancement of a wide range of Microsoft applications in a major financial sector organisation.
The following are essential skills for the role:
* VB 6, DTS, and especially SQL server 2000 (inc stored procedures)
* Some practical exposure to .Net
This role will suit a Microsoft Developer capable of working on the development and support of a large number of applications, primarily using VB6 and SQL Server 2000, but with a significant and growing .Net component. You could be involved in design, build, and incident resolution, for a wide range of clients.
You will preferably also have knowledge of ASP and COM+, along with experience of financial systems. You will also:
* Be happy to work through a number of different small changes, including working with users on testing
* Be efficient and quick to learn
* Be good with users
* Work well alone but know when to escalate
* Have good communication and organisation skills
* Have a positive attitude
