Working with, and supported by the core web development team you will be responsible for identifying, quoting and developing new features and applications for existing websites for a number of our leading-brand clients. These would include e-commerce applications, CMS and interactive websites.
This newly-created role involves a high level of client liaison, small project management and multi-tasking skills. We're looking for a commercially-minded web developer with plenty of entrepreneurial spirit.
This role includes:
- Development of .NET, C#, XML and web services
- Use of varied technologies, including but not limited to XML, C#, COM, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML and Java Script
- Using these technologies and products to dynamically interact with SQL databases - mainly MS SQL Server 2000
- Management of small projects involving client liaison, understanding a client's business objectives, writing system specifications and quotes
- Ensuring projects and tasks are delivered to specification and on time
- Developing your own portfolio of activity
As a member of our established development team, you will have the opportunity to co-ordinate several website enhancement projects within your first year. You'll help to identify web development opportunities within our client portfolio, approach and establish relationships with key customers, and then work to improve their existing website. In addition you'll learn from and contribute to our in-house code library, and regularly bring new technical ideas to the team.
The position has its own unique bonus scheme to reflect the business development element; it presents a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious web developer to build their own team.
The successful candidate will hold a computer science or equivalent degree (2:1 and above) and have a strong foundation in programming techniques and theories, including object orientated programming.
What will give you a distinct advantage:
- A minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience of web application development
- Strong programming experience, specifically at least 2 years developing with .NET, C#, XML and web services
- Experience developing/maintaining large e-commerce and CMS applications
- Previous project management skills or a willingness and aptitude to learn
- An eye for detail and high quality standards
- Client liaison experience
- An ability to spot commercial opportunities for web development
In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, sound technical ability and ‘people-skills'.
You will be able to work effectively with limited supervision and as part of a dynamic team. You will be proactive in presenting ideas for enhancements to clients and then following them through to implementation. You will be skilled at multi-tasking, handling several different projects at any time and managing the priorities.

Salary on offer is £24,000 + £2,000 Company Bonus + Additional Project Bonus
