C/C++ Developer with experience in a Windows (Visual C++) or UNIX environment is required by our Altrincham, Cheshire based client (close to Manchester) to play a key role in the ongoing development of their financial software systems. With full SDLC experience this role will include writing/reviewing Business & Technical Specifications, and Test Plans, writing and testing high-quality software, acting as a Support Programmer, on an occasional basis or as assigned, and contributing to the technical improvement of the company's products. You may also be asked to act as lead developer for project development work. To be considered you must be a graduate with an honours degree in computing or a scientific discipline, at 2:1 or higher with strong skills in C/C++ development. Any additional skills in the following order of importance would be desirable: Java/J2EE Development, UML, Software testing techniques and tools, Knowledge of Oracle AS or JBoss application servers, Relational database experience (preferably Oracle or SQL Server), Experience of large-scale commercial software development or the use of technology within financial services.
