Our Client provides a SyncML-based Internet/wireless application that enables users to set up and maintain a permanent private mobile address book on the web and to synchronise wirelessly the contents of the standard phone book on their mobile phones with their web-based phone books (and vice-versa) at any time, practically anywhere in the world.
As part of the their software development team your primary responsibility will be to design and develop Java J2EE components to tight deadlines for high availability deployments of the Phonesync server, scaling to millions of users. You will be involved in all aspects of Web application software development from JSP development though server business logic to persistence. You will also be responsible for integrating the Phonesync server with clients infrastructures, including liasing with clients to determine their requirements.
Experience:
You will have solid experience of designing, developing, deploying and testing J2EE-based solutions, preferably in high availability applications. Your previous roles will include a large amount of experience of J2EE and EJBs and you will have had responsibility over the design of J2EE systems. You will be highly proficient in Java and be very confident developing J2EE solutions within very demanding timescales.
You will have experience of and be highly competent with the following technologies:
• J2EE design, development, deployment and testing (3 Years +)
• J2SE design and development (3+ Years)
• SQL (including database design)
• EJB development
• JSP development
• Servlet Model View Controller design (e.g. Struts)
• Ant
Experience of the majority of the following technologies is very desirable:
• SOAP
• XML
• SyncML
• WBXML
• Developing for mobile phones
• SMPP/EAIF
• Oracle Database Administration
• JUnit and/or other unit testing frameworks
• HTML
• WML
• Javascript
• CVS
• Build Control
• SNMP

• Unix or Linux
• JBoss
• Weblogic
