Our client is an independent programme and system assurance company with 27 years' experience of delivering consulting and technology services into Space, Defence and Government. They currently seek a Group IS Administrator, to join the team on a temporary maternity cover contract, assisting the IS Operations Manager with procurement and IT asset management.
As a member of the Group IS Team, based at the Welwyn Office, duties will encompass a broad range of activities including:
* Maintain IT asset registers, keeping records of staff and their assigned IT assets, tracking assets across the company in conjunction with the Group IS team.
* Administer the purchase of IT hardware and software.
* Maintain records of hardware and software maintenance and support agreements.
* Assist in the development and refinement of administrative procedures within Group IS.
* Preparation of electronic documents as necessary.
* General administrative activities.
* Receive telephone requests for help from users and log them in the Help Desk system.
* Other duties assigned by the IS Operations Manager (UK).
This position reports to the IS Operations Manager and will be supervised by the Group IS Asset Controller until she begins her maternity leave.
With a background in administration, ideally gained in an IT-orientated environment, you will have experience of purchasing and supplier liaison/management, with a good understanding of asset control and software licensing management.
You will be proficient in the use of the MS Office suite of products, and will have a highly organised and methodical approach with a full clean Driving Licence. Also desirable is a good knowledge of MS Access and MS Office macros would be advantageous.
You will be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision. Personable and outgoing, you will be a good communicator, with the ability to work with people at all levels as a customer focused team player.
