Optics Design Engineer, Wilts, Oxon, zemax, display, solidworks, autocad, matlab, sensor, imaging
My client is an innovative company developing optical films, integrated screens, and optical modules in the areas of displays, security, illumination and renewable energy. It is active in the area of complex films for plastic electronics. Their technologies include diffusers, brightness enhancement films, light guides, solar concentrators and rear projection screens.
They are seeking an Optics Design Engineer to work on a number of projects in the development of novel optical film and optical module designs.
The role will include:
Undertaking detailed optical designs, including the use of optical design software and CAD packages (TracePro, Zemax, SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2000 LT).
Analyses of design and manufacturing approaches to problem solutions, including the use of mathematical software such as MATLAB and Mathematica.
Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to progress a variety of projects, including design of optical concentrators, active films such as OLEDs on plastic, and micro and nanostructured optical films.
Developing innovative designs and new concepts, including assisting their development into patent filings.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree or equivalent experience in optical or sensor engineering - PhD highly desirable.
Either already experienced or willing and able to learn the use of modeling tools, including TracePro, Zemax, Mathematica and MATLAB.
Good knowledge of optics and imaging.
