-Job Summary
- Our client are a leading engineering business who have enjoyed continued success through core product sales. With the introduction of additional product services there is substantial potential to build upon the solid customer base and identify and upsell solutions into new and existing accounts.
- The role of Business Development Manager will be a critical appointment to the team and will be instrumental in enabling the business to achieve its ultimate goal of continued growth and to taking sales to £5 million by mid-2005 – thus significantly increasing turnover and profit margins.
- The successful candidate will be a proven salesperson with the ability to communicate at all levels. They will posses ambition and determination to succeed and know how to close the sale. Experience in a field-based sales role is desirable as is knowledge of self-managing a territory / region.
- It is essential that candidates have experience generating and scheduling leads and appointments and consider themselves to be self-disciplined and self-motivated.
- Key Tasks & Main Duties
- Understand the account base and agree and define a contact management strategy to maintain customer relationships.
- Develop product knowledge to sufficient levels which create good technical acumen and confident communication.
- Pro-actively identify and target new business accounts who will benefit from our clients product offering.
- Generate leads and sales opportunities and involve in-house expertise and advice whenever applicable.
- Consistently develop and provide reports on the sales pipeline which includes potential, expected and forecast business.
- Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts to upsell additional product services.
- Adopt a vertical marketing strategy which creates and develops additional sales opportunities within similar businesses and industries as existing customer accounts.
- Critical background experience & knowledge
- Must possess a proven track record in sales.
- Can demonstrate experience closing the sale.
- Can communicate at all levels.
- Has experience generating and scheduling appointments.
- Has experience managing customer accounts.
- Has experience self generating leads.
- Has experience working to and beating targets.
- Possesses good time management
- Essential skills / Qualifications / Experience:
- Specific knowledge of printer technology or similar
- Experience in an electronics environment
- Experience of selling customised solutions
- Demonstrable background in sales
- A minimum of 3 years sales experience
- Experience of prospecting and making own sales appointments
- Experience of selling electronic based products
- Home working facilities
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Desirable skills / Qualifications / Experience:
- Qualification in electronics
