To strengthen existing Technical Team:
Successful candidate will have experience in substrates - film, paper, ink and coatings and will be familiar with packaging industry coupled with hygiene critical industry experience / knowledge (e.G. - food, beverage, medical, scientific). You must have experience in report writing and project management; knowledge of ISO 9001, 2000 and 14001 would be an advantage. A science based Hons Degree and knowledge of Chemistry is essential, as is a clean driving licence.
Working alongside Hygiene and Safety Officer, you will be (wholly or partly) responsible for the following:
· Quality (Raw Materials, Work in Progress, Finished Goods).
· Positive Release (approval systems).
· Product Testing/Sample Analysis.
· Raw Material Testing.
· Free Amine Testing.
· Database Creation/Management.
· Customer Liaison (proactive - visiting them - and reactive - responding to queries).
· Calibration.
· Process & Product Development.
My clients produce printed, waxed, laminated, perforated and slit paper and film to - primarily - food manufacturers and retailers. They have recently they have moved into new markets, including produce, poultry, seafood and non-foods. This advancement has highlighted the need for a packaging technologist to help maximise the opportunities available as well as continually improve the service they are able to provide new and existing customers.
Central Scotland - considered commutable from Edinburgh, Bo'ness, Livingston, Dunbar, Galashiels.
