I am seeking a bi-lingual (German/English) speaking individual that has a proven background in the technology of Magneto Optical devices. The purpose of the position is to support engineers and customers as well as OEMs within the business division by providing technical skills to satisfy and assist customers with trouble shooting, training and testing of SWs and back up systems where tape drives are built-in and/or connected over the network. You will be a major factor working with the engineering and Global design teams for sales activities of tape streamer products to convince potential customers.
You will be responsible for failure analysis of drives returned from customers, providing feed back to design teams for solution of problems and for improvements of field failure rate you will need to maintain good relationships, communicating regularly to provide technical information, analyzing technical problems and solving them by working together with the design teams and make technical fact files through input of technical information/know-how acquired.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work off site on occasions to attend meetings with potential customers to convince them of the company's product advantages from a technical perspective so customer facing skills and abilities are a pre-requisite. You will need to have knowledge of computer peripheral equipment, SCSI devices is essential and operational skills and practical knowledge of Unix / Windows NT server.
