Our Client has long been regarded as the premium brand in towels, and as the No 1 Brand in the UK, has a prestigious customer base as well as a thriving export business into Europe and USA. The business has an impressive and sustained history of growth and profitability in increasingly competitive market conditions.
The Company employs around 520 staff, about half at the site in Hyde and the warehouse in Higher Openshaw, and half at over 100 concession shops in stores and outlets throughout the UK.
The UK has seen a significant increase in the number of Outlets over the last 2 years with additional plans for growth. They now need to recruit an additional Area Manager with specific Outlet experience to focus on managing the retail space to maximise sales in this key area of profitability.
Overall purpose of job:
To maximise turnover & control costs, through effective management of our key resources – People, Space and Stock.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
* Ensure Adequate Staff cover is provided in line with Head Office guidelines.
* Achievement of Sales Targets.
* Motivation & Training of Staff.
* Achieve area Profitability.
* Reporting & Host Store Relations.
Key Tasks
Staff Cover & Opening Hours
* Manage budgeted staffing hours in-line with Head Office Matrix.
* Overtime Planned Effectively in Advance.
* Vacancies acted upon swiftly to ensure shop cover.
Achievement of Sales Targets
* Achievements of sales targets within a geographical area by monitoring performance and taking corrective action where necessary.
* Review performance versus budget on an ongoing basis.
* Excellence in customer service evident in all stores and actively promoted “Exceeding Customers Expectations”.
* Ensure effective executions of all major promotions and lay-out guidelines.
* On going Product Training.
Key skills required for the role:
* Experience of working in Outlets & retail management.
* Excellent people management skills.
* Teamworker with good communication skills.
* Ability to act on own initiative.
* Sales orientation with excellent customer services background.
* Ability to effectively prioritise /plan own workload.
* Computer literate.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop working relationships with both retail outlets and colleagues.
* Used to working in a pressurised environment.
