With the creation of the new Railway Consultancy unit, the above vacancy has arisen for an experienced systems engineer to contribute to and sustain the work and performance of the systems integration and assurance team. This is a key role with a real possibility to contribute to the successful delivery of rail projects in the United Kingdom and overseas. Candidates should have demonstrable skills and at least 10 years’ experience in the application of Systems Engineering techniques throughout the entire lifecycle of railway projects. Experience of risk identification analysis and mitigation – the ALARP principle – and conversance with railway design safety principles (HSE/HMRI) are also essential. Experience of project management techniques and processes would be of value, as would a working knowledge of the Network Rail and London Underground Limited Safety Case Standards and Procedures. Candidates should have a relevant degree, membership of a professional body and be Chartered Engineers. Candidates without this qualification will be required to demonstrate a commitment towards achieving it.
