Senior Assessment Engineer-Bridges and Structures Responsible to the Assessment Team Leader - Bridges and Structures for an Assessment Team. Manage the safety and environmental issues to ensure that QUENSH is complied with and that Trans4m meets its legal and contractual responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage an Assessment team to ensure optimum use of the resources for achieving the Contract benchmarks. Provide engineering judgement and experience within the Assessment team and train other engineers on assessment processes. Where appropriate, undertake principal inspections of the Bridges and Structures assets as part of the Assessment process in accordance with the appropriate Standards. Carry out Assessments of assets from desk study to asset categorisation and provide input to the Asset Register. Assess the potential for re-use of materials derived from within the limits of the asset boundaries in new areas of construction. Carry out assessments within an agreed cost and programme. Periodically appraise the Standards, which govern the procedures for carrying out the work, and be part of a Review Team, which will make recommendations for change as required. REQUIREMENTS Minimum 10 years experience in bridges and/or structures assessments preferably gained within multi-disciplinary teams. Understanding of the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry and associated rules and regulations essential. Good computer skills Appropriate health and safety training certificates.
