<b>Job Summary</b> <br>Atkins Rail civil engineering leads the industry in design development and management of total rail infrastructure systems.</p> </p>Atkins Rail undertakes civil engineering consultancy and design on Network Rail, London Underground and light rail networks. We undertake projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction management.</p> </p>Our engineers are skilled in the design of permanent way (trackform and alignment), bridges and tunnels, passenger stations, freight terminals, maintenance and support facilities, and embankments and cuttings.</p><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b> <br><ul><li>The management of the Permanent Way design resource in York<li>Ensuring that all work undertaken for or on behalf of the York P-Way office is compliant with Atkins and the industry requirements including Finance, Commercial, Safety, Quality and Environment<li>Client Management<li>Liasion within other Engineering functions within Rail and wider Atkins<li>Reporting to the Head of Civil Engineering, York<li>Project Management and/or engineering coordination of P-Way led projects</li></ul><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br></p></p><strong></strong></p><strong></strong></p><strong></strong></p><ul><li>Chartered/Incorporated Civil Engineer<li>Significant Permanent Way Experience<li>Excellent leadership skills/team building<li>Knowledge of Netowrk Rail Group and company standards<li>Ability to work under pressure and proven ability on delivery of projects to time, budget and to the right quality</li></ul><br><br><b>Training</b> <br>Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of in-house and external training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents. These are reviewed with individuals on a six monthly basis.
