ÂThe Role:â To ensure that the Birmingham office projects (as assigned) are successfully completed within target time scales and budgets; Responsible for the implementation of Company and Project specific commercial systems and procedures as directed by the Company Commercial Director through the Birmingham Commercial Manager; To protect the legal and contractual position of the client ÂKey responsibilities:â • Under the direction of the Birmingham Commercial Manager, take responsibility for the Commercial conclusion of all Project Main and sub-contract negotiations. Ensure all Client specified bonds, warranties, and guarantees are appropriately provided and managed;• Ensure the commercial functions within the project teams meet both the Client and Company expectations;• Manage an appropriate commercial support team commensurate with each project’s requirements to ensure that all commercially related aspects are professionally executed, controlled, and reported;• Provide commercial and contractual advice to designated Project Managers as appropriate;• Ensure all processes and document control complies with the appropriate Company Standards;• Establish and maintain project related commercial systems, including commercial risk review, and change control. Responsible for managing the capture of project scope and programme changes through to agreement with Client or Alliance partners as appropriate. Establish and utilise a formalised process to achieve this, ensuring that all changes are authorised and instructed to the responsible Work Package Managers with budgetary and programme adjustments;• Provide commercial reports for inclusion within each overall Project report for Board review including provision of all actual and forecast costing information for progress and earned value analysis;• Establish an effective sub-contracting strategy with each Project Management team. Manage the selection, award, cost and contractual control of sub-contractors;• Secure payment from Client for work done and close out final cost accounts with client. ÂThe Candidate:â Essential Requirements:The succesful candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:-• Relevant degree• Proven interpersonal skills with confident and determined approach• Excellent motivator with strong leadership skills• Proven commercial management skills• Experience of negotiations / commercial management for large engineering projects• Excellent negotiating and communication skills• Experience of managing disputes and application of contract lawIn addition to be Qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors will be a desirable requirement.
