ResponsibilitiesÔÔÔÔÔÔ Manage an Assessment team to ensure optimum use of the resources for achieving the Contract benchmarks. Provide engineering judgement and experience within the Assessment team and train other engineers on assessment processes. Where appropriate, undertake principal inspections of the Bridges and Structures assets as part of the Assessment process in accordance with the appropriate Standards. Carry out Assessments of assets from desk study to asset categorisation and provide input to the Asset Register. Assess the potential for re-use of materials derived from within the limits of the asset boundaries in new areas of construction. Carry out assessments within an agreed cost and programme. Periodically appraise the Standards, which govern the procedures for carrying out the work, and be part of a Review Team, which will make recommendations for change as required. ÔÔÔÔÔÔ Requirements ÔÔÔÔÔÔ Minimum 10 years experience in bridges and/or structures assessments preferably gained within multi-disciplinary teams. Understanding of the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry and associated rules and regulations essential. Good computer skills Appropriate health and safety training certificates.
