<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p></p><p>Atkins Rail forms part of the £17 billion ground-breaking Metronet Project. This marks the start of a historic investment programme on the London Underground Network. </p><p>As an Atkins Rail employee, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in transforming the London Underground into a more frequent and reliable service for future generations. </p><p>We are currently recruiting for several Senior Assessment Engineers / Bridge Engineers at various locations throughout the United Kingdom. Successful applicants will be responsible to the Assessment Team Leader – Bridges and Structures for an Assessment Team. </p><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b> <br><ul><li>Manage an Assessment team to ensure optimum use of the resources for achieving the Contract benchmarks.</li><li>Provide engineering judgement and experience within the Assessment team and train other engineers on assessment processes.</li><li>Where appropriate, undertake principal inspections of the Bridges and Structures assets as part of the Assessment process in accordance with the appropriate Standards.</li><li>Carry out Assessments of assets from desk study to asset categorisation and provide input to the Asset Register.</li><li>Assess the potential for re-use of materials derived from within the limits of the asset boundaries in new areas of construction.</li><li>Carry out assessments within an agreed cost and programme.</li><li>Periodically appraise the Standards, which govern the procedures for carrying out the work, and be part of a Review Team, which will make recommendations for change as required.<b><u></u></b></li></ul><p> </p><br><br><b>Requirements </b> <br><ul><li>Minimum 10 years experience in bridges and/or structures assessments preferably gained within multi-disciplinary teams.</li><li>Understanding of the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry and associated rules and regulations essential.</li><li>Good computer skills</li><li>Appropriate health and safety training certificates.</li><li>Chartered Engineer.<b><u></u></b></li></ul><p> </p><br><br><b>Training</b> <br>Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.
