Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Product Manager (with sound experience of buying) to manage and develop their bespoke product solutions range.
Key Responsibilities:
? Communicate details of new products to inventory, including vendor details, forecasts etc
? Work with the sales force to ensure that there is a clear understanding of product usage through the life-cycle and through seasonal variations. Communicate changes to inventory
? Work with the Account Management teams to ensure speedy clearance of unwanted stock
? Working with the agreement of customers to rationalise the range of products, delivering savings for the customer and cost benefit to the company
? Use the rationalised range as a base to gain sales to new customers in new product areas
? Leverage better pricing and terms and conditions from the increased purchase volumes
? Utilise all means to negotiate better costs, and through the sales force better selling prices on retained products
? Create sales propositions for bespoke product areas where there are large margins (e.g. envelopes, tape)
Essential Key Skills and Experience
? Experience of buying, product management and vendor management
? Ideally CIPS qualified
? Experience of product and supplier rationalization
? Knowledge of specific marketplaces such as Office Products, Retail, Commercial banking, Government, Manufacturing etc.
? PC literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
? Knowledge of SAP functions
? Strong commercial and business acumen and process oriented
? Planning, organization and project management skills
? Works well under pressure and self motivated
