Buyer - Bedfordshire - Electronics - £Negotiable
An experienced Electronics Buyer is required to purchase materials for customer projects and from MRP demand. The successful Buyer will compile cost estimates for new business and co-ordinate materials for prototypes or first time build requirements.
Responsibilities:
Purchase components, equipment and services to fulfil customer orders
Minimise the cost of goods and meet cost saving targets
Compare costs and evaluate quality and suitability of suppliers, materials and equipment
Select and develop vendors
Gain awareness of market trends
Resolve invoicing queries and plan production orders effectively
Monitor and optimise inventory levels
Producing estimates from approved sales enquiries.
Compile Excel cost spreadsheets from customer or ERP generated BOMs.
Identify new tooling requirements and cost accordingly.
Update ERP system with relevant cost information.
Source materials for prototype builds using existing stock where possible ensuring agreed timescales and budgets are achieved.
Liaise with customers and internal staff where necessary.
Report and expedite any resulting shortage issues.
