Buyer, Northants, CIPS, PCB, electronic, electromechanical, MRP, SAP
My client have a vacancy within Purchasing for a Buyer whose main responsibilities will be:
Processes all material requisitions within given deadlines, by locating most cost-effective source, ensuring delivery dates are achieved.
Establishes, negotiates and monitors purchasing agreements with preferred suppliers to ensure effective source for requirements.
Expedites outstanding order book via regular and specific progressing to achieve requested delivery dates
Provides a service to other internal departments as required, advising delivery status, price movements, market trends, component availability, recommending strategic purchases etc.
Appraises existing and potential vendor base by KPI, supplier reviews and visits as necessary to ensure equitable supply of goods and services. Attends and contributes to meetings and discussions covering Logistics objectives, supplier performance.
Likely to be CIPS qualified, you will have previous experience of buying Printed Circuit Boards, Electronic and Electro-mechanical components within both the UK and World markets. You will be capable of meeting and exceeding price and delivery targets with a minimum of supervision. Computer literate you will be able to work from MRP or by project. Knowledge of SAP preferred.
