Our client is searching for a Purchasing Analyst to assist the Group Purchasing Director and Product Managers who are responsible for the product and supplier management for Office Supplies. The candidate must have extensive and well developed computer skills acquired through having produced spreadsheets, presentations, documents etc via Microsoft Office and database applications in a previous role. You will assist the strategies set by the department and share in the development of the product sections.
Major functions of the Purchasing Analyst:
* Production of regular and ad-hoc reports from Microsoft and in-house computer systems to assist the analysis of product areas.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of product areas
* Provide admin support to the Group Purchasing Director and Product Managers
* Assist the tender process for the products in the Product Manager's portfolio
* Administration to ensure compliance with (and keep necessary records for) all appropriate legislation, including Packaging Waste, WEEE, ROHS, COSHH and any future requirements
* Administration and development of the purchasing pages on the group Intranet site.
Experience / skills necessary for the role of Purchasing Analyst:
* Advanced skill levels in Microsoft Access 2000/XP essential
- Ability to create a complete database with multiple Tables, Queries, Forms
- Ability to analyse data using queries & reports
* Competent skill levels in Microsoft SQL essential
- Ability to create queries/stored procedures
- Ability to extract data into other Microsoft Office programmes.
- Ability to analyse data using advanced formulae & pivot tables
* Knowledge of HTML & webpage design advantageous but not essential
* Excellent organisational skills including the ability to build effective working relationships.
* An analytical approach to solving problems
* The ability to manage a wide range of different projects, prioritise and complete them individually
* Work independently but be part of a team
