Title: Team Leader
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: Circa £17,000

INTRODUCTION
Our unique manufacturing client is now looking to employ a Team Leader to maximise the efficiency of their manufacturing resources. The highly motivated and enthusiastic successful applicant will assist in the effective day-to-day organisation of the shopfloor consisting of 6 personnel.
This is a hands-on role and, ideally, applicants should have a TECHNICAL APTITUDE possibly coming from an engineering, mechanical or workshop background as the shopfloor consists of various equipments including CNC machine, router, jigs and hand tools etc.
Working 40 hours per week and finishing at 12 o’clock on every Friday you may be required to organise shift rosters when deadlines need to be met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include:
- Appraise, train and develop employees to maximise potential.
- If necessary, assist in the disciplining of departmental staff, where appropriate.
- Create an environment within the Department that will cause all personnel to apply their full abilities to their jobs.
- Ensure that all personnel are trained and suitably equipped to do their job.
- Be conversant with and assume proper responsibility for the implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and all other Company Policies, rules and arrangements.
- Work to ensure safe and efficient systems of work.
- Through continuous improvement, enhance efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Prioritise and plan work and resources to ensure that priorities are met wherever possible. For example, organizing and communicating work schedules for the following day.
- Ensure that any plant and equipment problems are highlighted to ensure customer requirements are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Delegate functional responsibility and assist those individuals and advise them in the achievement of their job objectives.
- Undertake training as and when appropriate including the completion of relevant paperwork.

- Possess a technical aptitude.
- Ideally from and engineering, mechanical or workshop background.
- Proven man-management skills.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
- Flexible attitude.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Previous experience of planning and scheduling of work and resources.
- A calm nature with the ability to work under pressure.
