Drive by Wire / Vehicle Systems Engineer required by a world leading engineering technology provider. Role: Definition and interpretation of system and safety requirements; Use of modelling and analysis tools to support functional development; Management of and liaison with component and sub-system suppliers; Prototyping of control system solutions; Implementations on test bench and on vehicles. Requirements: You will be qualified to at least degree level in an Engineering discipline, and will have 3 years experience of some of the following: Control strategy development for vehicle dynamics sub-systems; Modelling and simulation for by-wire control of vehicle dynamics sub-systems (e.g. Steering, Braking, etc.) with experience in using Simulink, CARSIM, IPG tools; Electrical system definition for drive-by-wire systems including the identification of controller, sensor and actuator requirements and specification of the hardware and software interfaces; Design, development and implementation of safety critical control applications at hardware and software level, including generation of System and Component level FMEAs; Knowledge and understanding of failure mode detection and system redundancy requirements; Implementation of time-triggered communications protocols and CAN bus for vehicle control applications.
