The position as Lead Stress Engineer is a senior post, reporting directly to the Chief Stress Engineer, and will be based in Bristol covering Aerospace and Defence analysis activities. Salary will be commensurate with experience and a relocation package is available if necessary.
You will be Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or possess suitable experience in lieu of qualification), and able to demonstrate a strong record in technical leadership, innovation, and team working qualities. You should demonstrate a proactive attitude, and ideally have 5 plus years of professional experience of structural/stress analysis in the aerospace sector, either civil or military. You should ideally be fully conversant with industry analysis methods, standards and practices as well as the latest analysis tools and applications.
You will be required to have:
Broad aerospace experience, with particular reference to the stress analysis of aircraft structures or engines.
In addition, specific expertise in at least one of the following would be an advantage:
Finite Element modelling
Fatigue and Damage Tolerance
Design
Composite Materials
You must have:
Professional approach and performance
Strong communication skills
Commercial awareness
Team worker with the ability to effectively manage yourself, and colleagues when appropriate
