<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p>Atkins has the largest UK consultant capability in the Defence market. The Defence Systems business is a progressive and rapidly expanding part of Atkins. We plan, design and enable complex defence programmes. We successfully deliver independent programme management and high-end engineering (systems engineering, safety and supportability engineering, structural engineering) services to the MoD and Defence industry. </p><p>We seek high quality, professional, committed and flexible individuals to join a rapidly expanding and successful, market leading business ~ (a leading supplier of integrated technologically based solutions to the defence systems and aerospace market).</p><p>A Systems Engineer is required to join a growing team delivering interesting and demanding Defence programmes. Undertaking systems engineering and technical consultancy, the candidate will bring ISTAR engineering and technology knowledge to a highly motivated and multidisciplinary team.</p><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br><strong>Essential </strong><ul><li>10 years experience of sensors and systems for surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance and local situational awareness which may include one or more of the following: EO, EOPM, Radar, camera systems, laser systems, EW, integrated image handling, ISTAR information dissemination and processing. <li>Functional modelling, requirements analysis and derivation <li>Undertaking trade-off analyses and studies <li>Design and/or use of Engineering/Operational Analysis tools and methodologies for the assessment of ISTAR approaches. </li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of current MOD Land based STA sensors and systems <li>Sensors and systems for ISTAR on Armoured Fighting Vehicles <li>Knowledge of wider ISTAR issues and systems throughout MOD <li>Experience of NEC and current CBM(L) systems <li>Experience of working with major defence contractors. <li>Working with DPA, DEC and Military customers. <li>Knowledge of military structures and tactics. <li>Running technical workshops and meetings <li>Technical assurance of sub-contractors products/deliverables <li>Testing and trials. <li>Project Management</li></ul><br><br><b>Additional Infornation</b> <br><ul><li>Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client’s offices may also be required. </li><li>SECURITY – All candidates must be in a position to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
