<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p><strong>Principal Consultant - Structural Integrity (Solid Mechanics) </strong>We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced technical consultant engineers to support two progressive and rapidly expanding Atkins businesses.</p><p>The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering specialist mechanical and safety services to the civil nuclear and defence markets.</p><p>Leading a range of challenging tasks based in Bristol and Derby, the role will be to offer leading technical expertise to our projects in the field of solid mechanics for reactor system pressure parts.</p><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br><ul><li>Minimum 7 - 10 years' relevant industry experience <li>Key technical expertise and practitioner experience in at least one of the following areas: <ul><li>Fracture mechanics <li>Pressure vessel design assessment (including ASME III) <li>Weld integrity and implications of defect inclusion <li>Non-linear stress assessment</li></ul></li><li>Degree qualified (or acceptable experience in lieu of) <li>Experience in the UK civil or military nuclear industry <li>Current UK security clearance to a minimum SC level - or candidates will need to be in a position to attain this</li></ul><br><br><b>Training</b> <br></p>Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.
