Engineering - Project Management
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Project Sponsor to build confidence in project delivery
Proactively involved in developing project delivery strategies
Identify and communicate ‘lessons learned’ to the Head of Project QUALIFICATIONS
B.eng or B.Sc in a relevant discipline though HNC/HND is acceptable supported by demonstrable extensive experience
Full member of APM or PMI
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of NII licence conditions and arrangements
Knowledge of Health and safety Legislation and company safety, quality and security procedures
Knowledge of best practice project management procedures.
Fundamental understanding of contractor management issues including safe systems of work
Fundamental understanding of safety case preparation
EXPERIENCE
Previous 3/4 years experience project management
Previous experience of successful control and delivery of projects whilst leading, motivating and managing cross discipline teams, using defined project management arrangements and procedures within an engineering management system
Experience in developing relationships with internal/external supply chain resources, and co ordination of change configuration/ management during project delivery
Experience in communications with Project sponsors and interpretation of Customer requirements/ supporting customer interface and ensuring specifications are produced and approved.
Experience in technical issues and risks in line with the Project Risk Register
Experience in audit and review project procedures and performance, and initiation of value improving practices during project lifecycles in accordance with the agreed project management plan for the project

Ability to build and improve effective internal and external working relationships
Ability to interpret corporate plans and objectives and develop specific objectives
Strong commercial and financial awareness
Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multi task role, managing priorities and working to challenge time scales

Evaluate solutions and potential difficulties and devise appropriate action
Clear concise, fluent and unambiguous in exchange of information at all levels
Team worker, also understanding needs and objectives of whole team
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Delivery to the Project Sponsor, the project and associated documentation to meet safety, quality, programme and cost objectives, by implementing the project strategy and using the defined project management arrangements within an engineering integrated management system.
