The Assurance Advisor is the focal point for the provision of guidance on Assurance matters and facilitation of improvements in the Directorate's Assurance Performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To advise, co-ordinate and facilitate the Directorate to maintain compliance with the Company's Assurance arrangements and deliver continuous improvement in our Assurance performance.
To interpret Company Assurance requirements and provide guidance to identify the relevant elements requiring action / implementation and to facilitate these activities.
To provide advise, co-ordinate and facilitate the Directorate's participation in Company Assurance improvement programmes and other initiatives.
To maintain an understanding of the Directorate's Assurance performance and interpret the data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
To define and deliver the Directorate Audit programme and undertake risk assessments and abnormal event investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous safety, health, environment, quality and security training.
Recognised Assurance qualifications such as NEBOSH, IEMA, IRCA would be beneficial.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment, Security and Quality Management desirable.
Knowledge of International Standards for Assurance Management as ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 desirable.
EXPERIENCE
Experience of developing and implementing performance improvement programmes desirable.
Experience of risk assessment, auditing and accident investigation desirable.
SKILLS
Inter-personal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Ability to digest technical information and translate it for a non-technical audience.
Ability to relate to the Customer and understand their requirement, balancing business and commercial needs.
Ability to engage and influence at all levels.
Focus on delivery of performance, objectives and targets
Analytical, problem solving and investigative skills.
Ability to work on own and within teams.
Basic MS office skills.
