Discipline Engineering - Mechanical
To provide support for the implementation and maintenance of configuration management systems applied to successor programmes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Product Configuration Manager to provide a CM system covering product design and manufacture throughout the company.
To include
Providing a secretariat for Product Configuration Board i.e. assessment of modification submissions, arranging meetings, provision of minutes, monitoring progress of submissions and interfacing between configuration board and customer.
Provide the focal point for all project documentation in and out of company.
Development and maintenance of associated CM databases.
Assist in the production and release of the Project CM plans and carry out systematic reviews, re-issuing as appropriate.
Provide advice on CM issues and guidance on company policy.
Attend Technical Reviews related to modification submissions.
To ensure responsibilities are understood and applied with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
To safeguard Company information and assets from unauthorised access or disclosure, reporting security breaches and apply security at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
HND/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering, with a 4 year Engineering Apprenticeship or recognised formal training in engineering.
Incorporate Membership of an appropriate Institution is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE
International, defence and company configuration procedures i.e. ISO 10007 and Def Stan 05-57.
Product definition (Drawing) standards.
UK Health and Safety Legislation.
Quality Standards and Procedures.
EXPERIENCE
Proven track record in product design / configuration experience including the generation / modification of design documentation packages.
SKILLS
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to interact at all levels both internally and externally to the company.
Application of product design standards.
Competent in the writing of Technical Reports and presenting of technical information.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Security cleared to DV-SAP

Manage an effective configuration management system meeting the requirements of the associated programme and compliant with company processes and procedures.
In support of continuous improvement, introduce updates to the system resulting from experiences gained in maintaining the Configuration Management (CM) system and from review and learn activities from other company CM systems
