Discipline Engineering - Electrical
Organise the maintenance, calibration and replacement activities for specialised high voltage test equipment, liaising with other Company departments to ensure appropriate safety requirements are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support to the scientists and engineers undertaking the development of neutron generators.
Organise the maintenance, calibration and replacement activities for specialised high voltage test equipment, placing external contracts where appropriate. Ensure that Company quality and other statuary requirements are met.
Support the development of novel high voltage test equipment.
Co-ordinate neutron generator development activities with Company facility management requirements to ensure the availability of the necessary facilities.
Act as an Authorised Person (Electrical) to ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment and installations used for neutron generator development.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least grade C GCSE passes in Maths, Science and English.
HNC or equivalent level qualification in electrical engineering
KNOWLEDGE
Electrical and High Voltage design. Electrical and high voltage safety. Quality procedures relevant to the job.
EXPERIENCE
Working with high voltages.
Organising maintenance activities.
Working in a strict assurance environment
Working in an advanced technology environment.
SKILLS
Able to work safely and competently with high voltages.
Good written communication skills.
Competency with computers.
Good problem-solving skills.
Able to interact and work as part of a team.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Be prepared to undertake work overseas
