Principle Accountabilities
•Contract Management – Maintaining, implementing and updating the contracts as conditions change.
•Risk Management – Developing and maintaining pro-active risk management of milestones and technical performance in line with company processes. De-risking financially through risk avoidance and risk sharing within the supply chain.
•Business Plan Management – monitoring and maintaining the approved business model, including non-recurring costs, unit recurring costs, resource utilisation and Capital Expenditure. Developing ongoing cost out plans through design changes and sourcing strategies in line with the goals of the business.
•Design Process Management – ensuring the application of design process steps from prototype and concept phases through development and qualification, applying DFSS and DFM/DFA, and ensuring cost, weight, performance and reliability targets are met.
•Development Testing - ensuring the use of test plans covering concept proving, risk reduction, performance, reliability growth, integration and qualification testing and the use of FRACAS to monitor failures and corrective actions. Leading problem resolution where necessary and ensuring correct resources are applied to solve technical problems. Management of the design and build of development test rigs and equipment.
•Production Readiness – managing the interface with the manufacturing module New Product Introduction manager and all aspects of module build readiness, manufacturing engineering, tooling, product industrialization and Quality. Development and refinement of the Production Test Specification using DFSS techniques. Management of the design, build and commissioning of production test equipment and rigs.
