Major defence manufacturer of advanced electronic capital equipment seek to employ an Industrial / Production Engineer or Manager with a proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI)
Primary Purpose of the Role:
To lead the Production Engineering team, ensuring best practice is employed in product introduction and workflow.
Responsible for a cost centre budget totalling £4m.
Direct management of 8 Production Engineers
Shared responsibility of 90 staff
Key Tasks:
To ensure the team are trained in the latest production techniques.
To manage the day to day running of the Production Engineering team.
Responsible for developing and maintaining systems and procedures to optimise performance.
Ensure that the Production area is equipped with appropriate plant, tooling and jigs to allow cost effective manufacture. Managing the through life maintenance of the equipment.
Develop and implement appropriate manufacturing methodologies in line with the life cycle of the products.
Actively manage the through life cost reduction program.
Proactively engage engineering development programmes, ensuring products are designed for manufacture.
