JOB DEFINITION:
Coordination of Skynet Operational Activities including database migration from Legacy to Skynet 5, follow up of Network Control Board issues and System Problem Reporting. Oversee ongoing database administration.

Responsible for:
Identifying and implementing best of practice data migration procedures within Network Operations to ensure that all data migration activities to maintain the system or to upgrade the system are effectively controlled and coordinated
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Implement best of practice data base migration procedures
Ensure change control reviews are in place to effectively manage database migration activities
Review and confirm that database migration test scripts are in place and robust for all database migration activates
Identify, review and confirm validity of data dictionaries in place, ensure any shortfalls are addressed by the dictionary owners
Ensure source and destination database structures are fully documented and supported through robust translation rules and test campaigns
Review and provide input as required to develop end-to end test campaigns for system integration activities
Manage System Problem Reports too ensure pre and post delivery system problems are resolved
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
Proven track record of systems integration and database migration management
Experience of the IT Systems Life Cycle (analysis, design, build, test and commissioning)
Experience of integrating operational management systems in a telecommunication environment
Experience in writing and implementing test campaigns and scripts
Excellent report writing skills
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES:
Process definition, re-engineering or improvement
Good technical understanding of Voice, IP and ATM principles
Experience in preparing and delivering technical training programmes
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
At least 7 years communication and or network operations experience
HND/HNC qualified as a minimum
MS Office proficient
Experience of Skynet 5 an advantage
