<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p><strong>Electrical Engineers</strong> - Atkins Nuclear are looking to recruit Electrical Engineers at both junior and senior levels to support multi-discipline project teams working on large, complex engineering projects.</p><p>Joining a large Atkins team based at a client site in Berkshire, the role will support the "feasibility" stage of the project process and will encompass activities such as:</p><ul><li>optioneering of processes <li>technology deselection <li>conceptual design <li>detailed design</li></ul><p>The Electrical Engineers will work closely with other project team members, such as the Assurance function on safety case documentation, the Systems function on requirements and functional specifications, and Project Controls function on planning, estimating etc.</p><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br><p>Knowledge and experience of the following areas would be beneficial:</p><ul><li>Nuclear safety case issues <li>Electro-magnetic pulse effects produced by very high voltage X-ray machines <li>Earthing and lighting protection for explosives licensed facilities <li>Reliability issues and SIL rating of equipment <li>Shielding and filtering requirements to protect Control and Instrumentation and electrical systems against EMP effects <li>11kV substation and switchgear equipment <li>Electrical building services, including lighting and small power <li>Constraints to operations on a nuclear licensed site <li>Project management, including controls, planning and estimating and preparation of deliverable/work package documentation <li>Working within a multi-discipline engineering team and having a general appreciation of other disciplines' constraints and requirements <li>NII site licence conditions and the constraints placed on site operations, including project implementation</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Chartered status for senior positions <li>Experience in the civil or military nuclear industry <li>Current UK security clearance to a minimum SC level - or candidates will need to be in a position to attain this</li></ul><br><br><b>Training</b> <br></p>Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.
