<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p>An outstanding opportunity for an experienced Business Manager to join the established Carbon Trust team in Chilbrook, Eynsham. </p><p>Suitable candidates will be educated to degree level of equivalent, ideally in one of the following subject areas - engineering, environment or science.</p><p>The Carbon Trust provides free or subsidised energy efficiency advice to the UK industrial and commercial sectors. It is an established programme, for which Atkins is a lead contractor. Energy users with an energy bill of £200,000 to ~£5m are allocated to Atkins Client Managers, who will liaise with the customer to ensure that a service can be provided which will maximise the programme's effectiveness in terms of £/tonne CO2 saved. </p><br><br><b>Responsibilities and Requirements</b> <br><p>The key element of this role at the outset will be to manage the establishment of a new Customer Centre on behalf of our Client, including growth and development of the requisite teams. It is envisaged that the remit of this role may extend over time to include managing a further contract with the same client together with responsibility for internal financial reporting across both contracts. This growth element will depend on the successful candidate's performance over time.</p><p>The Business Manager will provide a single point of contact for commercial issues and customer satisfaction. The Business Manager's terms of reference will include responsibility for:</p><ul><li>primary contact point for the client's Contract Manager <li>service variations and change management procedure <li>quotations and ordering <li>the contractor's commercial representation at meetings <li>issue and complaint resolution <li>charges</li></ul><p>The Business Manager will also form the HR interface for the Advice Line Team and Account Management Teams, providing support to both the Advice Line Supervisor and Account Management Team Leader(s) relating to:</p><ul><li>HR issues <li>performance issues relative to the contract specification <li>continuous improvement</li></ul><p>The Business Manager must have the following skills:</p><ul><li>business acumen <li>excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills <li>the proven ability to make decisions under demanding conditions <li>superb organisational ability and an excellent eye for detail <li>the ability to work with a wide disparate range of our Client's staff and contractors <li>the proven ability to interface and communicate with multiple contacts within Customer organisations <li>the proven ability to lead, motivate, develop and coach a team <li>the proven ability to lead a team to achieve service delivery goals <li>team management skills for 30 person inbound customer service team</li></ul><p>The Business Manager will be required to have operations experience of at least 5 years including elements of both team management and development and change management and supervisory experience of a minimum of 5 years.
