<b>Job Summary</b> <br><p><strong>Project Support Officers (PSO)</strong> - Atkins Nuclear are looking to recruit Project Support staff at both junior and senior levels to support multi-discipline project teams working on large, complex engineering projects.</p><p>Joining a large Atkins team initially based at a client site in Berkshire, the PSOs work closely with other project team members to support project "feasibility" studies and subsequent project stage activities such as: optioneering, technology de-selection, conceptual design and detailed design.</p><p>The PSOs will have daily interaction with the Assurance function on safety case documentation, the Systems function on requirements and functional specifications, and the Project Controls function on planning, estimating etc.</p><br><br><b>Requirements</b> <br><p>Knowledge and experience of the following areas would be beneficial:</p><ul><li>Nuclear safety case issues <li>Change control <li>Risk and issues management <li>Estimating and cost management <li>Progress reporting <li>Project planning (MS Project) <li>Document control <li>General project administration <li>Constraints to operations on a nuclear licensed site <li>Project management, including controls, planning and estimating and preparation of deliverable/work package documentation <li>Working within a multi-discipline engineering team and having a general appreciation of other disciplines' constraints and requirements <li>NII site licence conditions and the constraints placed on site operations, including project implementation</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Prince2 or APM qualified or studying towards a suitable project management qualification <li>Minimum of 2-3 years in a project support role preferably within an engineering or construction environment <li>Experience in the civil or military nuclear industry <li>Current UK security clearance to a minimum SC level - or candidates will need to be in a position to attain this</li></ul><br><br><b>Training</b> <br></p>Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.
