System Architect - eBorders (London)- exciting opportunity to join this leader in the defence industry where you will be responsible for elements of the architectural solution for the eBorders proposal. This will include: Lead eBorders technical proposal effort; Ensures design proposals meet the customer needs; Presentation of design solution to customer; Ensuring the eBorders solution meets business objectives and requirements for its functional performance, security and integrity; Identification of architecturally critical requirements, requirements assessment, design of system and support systems, impact assessment of requirements changes, definition of the design solution baseline; Extensive technical liaison with customer and potential suppliers; Review and approval of integration testing plans; Lead functional level system requirements development from high level user requirements, owner of the System Requirements Document; Define and trade-off candidate system solutions; Ensure that the solution is fully testable; Work closely with team to make sure technical solution is developed in conjunction with key internal stakeholders. You will have experience as System Architect preferably in complex real time systems integration projects. Past enterprise architecture experience preferable. Team player with good technical leadership skills. Strong proposal development experience. Flexibility to travel as required is preferable. Applies advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and theories. You will have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree; or 9 years of professional experience with a related PhD or JD; or 4 years of professional experience with a MD. Considered an expert, authority in discipline. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Works under consultative direction towards predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
