Our client supports, manufactures and designs electronic products for security, defence and aerospace applications worldwide. They are working on a unique and exciting product that must be developed, tested and delivered within a strict timescale. In view of this they are looking for a focused, personable Systems Test Engineer with excellent communication skills to enable them to liaise between internal teams and the customer.
Within this challenging role you will:
Manage all trials and testing activities, liaising with the Design Authorities and Sub-Contractors and act as Trial Manager for all development trials
Support and/or perform detailed electronic, optical and RF testing, undertaking recording results with acceptance of the Design Authority
Develop and execute the integration strategy for submarine communications enabling progressive acceptance of varied multi-discipline requirements
Maintain and provide reports from the acceptance and test sections of Project RADB in DOORS
Chair regular group progress meetings with UK and US customers (UK based)
Pro-actively manage expectations with the customer and confidently handle any situations if they should arise
Occasionally travel overseas
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Electronic Engineering
5-10 yrs experience in an engineering developing environment
Proven track record in the management and execution of System Integration programmes
Experience of trials and testing
Knowledge of RF signals, satellite communications and optic cabling
First-class communication skills
Positive and confident attitude
The ability to negotiate with and influence others at all levels is essential for this role
This position is for immediate or ASAP start due to the tight timescales involved in the project.
