Prestigious, private hospital; covering all surgical specialties (predominant specialty is orthopaedics) together with an Endoscopy Unit (based in Milton Keynes) currently seeking theatre nurses to be responsible for the planning / implementation of care of patients within the theatres.
The hospital provides services in orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, vascular and colorectal, ENT and ophthalmic surgery.
- To undertake scrub and circulating duties in a variety of surgical specialities.
- To identify, plan implement and evaluate care/services offered to our patients within the theatre through effective systems of documentation and communication
- To maintain safe custody, registration and administration of drugs used in the area.
- To take part in ?on-call? rota as required
? To assist in the setting and maintenance of clinical standards and implementation of clinical audits.
- To act as first assistant to the surgeon.
- To undertake any other duties as requested by senior members of staff.
- To provide a supportive environment for staff joining the department and undertake training as appropriate
- To assist senior staff with the management of the theatre suite
- To communicate effectively with patients and relatives, provide reassurance and support
- To report patient and staff accidents, incidents and complaints as necessary
You will be a registered nurse and have 1 year's minimum experience within a theatre environment.
